CHE Responds to Call for Help for TS Sendong Victims
In behalf of the CHE, I wish to thank all faculty, staff and students who came to the College and dropped off their donations for Tropical Storm Sendong victims. The College, through the Office of Community & Extension Services led by Asst. Prof. Mary Anne Tumanan coordinated with UP Manila Ugnayan ng Pahinungod and GMA Kapuso Foundation in this mission. Material donations worth approximately P50,000.00 consisting of assorted used clothing, shoes, slippers, bed comforters, mineral water, rice, milk, juices, medicines, and canned goods were brought to GMA Kapuso Foundation.
I also wish to extend our most sincere appreciation to everyone who shared their blessings by sending cash donations for the Sendong victims to Prof. Rowena Rumbaoa. To date, Prof. Rumbaoa has collected P25,000.00 in cash. She will be depositing the money to the account of GMA Kapuso Foundation specifically for the Sendong victims.
I commend the efforts of all our faculty and staff who assisted us in mobilizing the operations especially Prof. Tumanan, Prof. Rumbaoa and Prof. Tongson.
Again, thank you for your generosity and concern for our kababayans in Cagayan de Oro and other areas in Mindanao who have been gravely affected by Typhoon Sendong. We applaud your overwhelming gesture of giving. (Dean A.V. Mayo)
